The consortium consists of 13 partners from ten (10) European countries: Greece, Luxembourg, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, France, Portugal, United Kingdom and Malta.
Founded in 2011, Information Technology for Market Leadership (ITML) provides novel, tailor-made software solutions based on a variety of technologies, such as big data analytics, advanced data mining and machine/deep learning-based systems. ITML’s vision is to deliver products and services close to the real customers and market needs, ultimately improving the user experience and the access to technology. ITML solutions cover a very wide range of applications, including tailor-made cybersecurity services, smart production digitization and Internet-of-Things, e-shops, e-learning, Business Process Management (BPM), or any other customized application.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
ITML is the coordinator of the project, while it also acts as a technological provider contributing to the SENTINEL’s digital core through the delivery of sophisticated components for data transfer between internal and external components, and the SENTINEL Intelligent Recommendation Engine to ensure the most suitable data protection management policy. ITML also oversees the development and deployment of SENTINEL’s threat intelligence knowledge hub, the SENTINEL Observatory. ITML will lead three work packages: WP8: Project Management, Coordination and Quality Assurance; WP9: Ethics Requirements; and WP3: The SENTINEL digital core.
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a mission-driven Research and Technology Organisation that develops technology-intensive solutions for the digital and ecological age. In SENTINEL, LIST leads activities towards the design and implementation of the SENTINEL privacy and data proception suite, and thus leads WP2. In particular, LIST leads activities regarding the development of an end-to-end GDPR and data protection compliance framework for self-assessment, and contributes to the implementation of SENTINEL’s identity management system and cybersecurity components. Finally, LIST takes part in relevant integration and demonstration activities within the project, as well as in dissemination and ecosystem building activities.
IDIR’s mission is to develop and apply innovative solutions, at the intersection of Business, Information Technologies, and Communication Technologies, to deliver high-value services in dynamically changing environments, through leading-edge research and development in digital technologies. The IDIR team brings together experts with in-depth knowledge in the fields of Software & Requirements Engineering, Conceptual and Enterprise Modelling, Enterprise Architectures, Big Data Analytics, Information Management, Cyber Physical Systems and the Internet of Everything.

IDIR sets the project’s baseline (leading WP1 activities) through drafting the requirements and the methodology of the project, as well as specifying the Demonstration Execution Protocol. IDIR contributes to several activities regarding the design and implementation of the SENTINEL’s digital core and services. Finally, IDIR takes part in relevant integration and demonstration activities within the project, as well as in dissemination and exploitation activities.

ROLE IN THE PROJECT
INTRA is the scientific-technical-innovation manager in SENTINEL. INTRA is responsible for defining the SENTINEL’s technical architecture, as well as delivering the SENTINEL Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and integrated versions. Therefore, INTRA acts as the system integrator and leads SENTINEL’s WP5. Finally, INTRA takes part in relevant demonstration activities within the project, as well as in dissemination and exploitation activities.
Sphynx Technology Solutions AG is based at Zug, Switzerland with branches in Cyprus and London. The company offers products and solutions, and consulting services, in the areas of cyber intelligence, analytics, incident response, assurance and certification. The technologies offered by Sphynx include sophisticated event processing and analytics, security monitoring and testing, intrusion detection, fraud management, and incident response. Sphynx deploys off-the-shelf hardware components along with its custom software to provide tools including its security audit and certification platform and its model-driven big data analytics platform. Via its consulting services, Sphynx has expertise in providing customised solutions depending on client needs as well as more general training on analytics, security assessment and certification and cyber intelligence.

In SENTINEL, STS is involved in several activities concerning cybersecurity components for the SENTINEL privacy and personal data protection technologies, the policy drafting and orchestration module of the SENTINEL digital core, while it leads the SENTINEL Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) module, which inspects and verifies the effectiveness of the technical and organizational measures. Finally, STS takes part in relevant demonstration activities within the project, leading the evaluation and impact analysis of the SENTINEL solution, as well as the exploitation and standardization activities.
AEGIS IT RESEARCH GmbH is a research and development company based in Germany developing and managing innovative IT solutions for numerous business sectors. It is based on a highly effective professional team consisting of talented researchers and top-class IT experts from all over the world. This team empowers the company with a strong, diverse skillset which helps AEGIS offer innovative products and high-tech business solutions to the market. In SENTINEL, AEGIS leads the management of access and monitoring of numerous open security data sharing platforms towards deploying the envisioned SENTINEL knowledge base. AEGIs also leads the design and implementation of the interactive visualisations toolkit and framework for SENTINEL, while it is responsible for continuous market analysis and business planning for the SENTINEL solution exploitation.
The Telecommunication Systems Institute (TSI) is a National Research Institute founded by the Greek Ministry of Education in 1995. TSI operates within the framework of the Technical University of Crete (TUC) as an administratively independent and financially self-sustained entity. Its mission is to spearhead basic and applied research in telecommunications and allied areas, contribute to graduate education, service, and outreach activities, and promote technological development at the regional and national level. It contributes to the graduate program of the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at TUC, and in turn draws senior researchers and graduate students.

In SENTINEL, TSI leads activities relevant to the management and integration of opensource technology offerings and solutions related to data privacy, data protection and cyber assurance for SMEs/MEs, while it contributes to the SENTINEL cybersecurity components. TSI takes part in relevant demonstration activities within the project, as well as in dissemination and ecosystem building activities.
CCS is a subsidiary company of Airbus group especially focused on cyber-security. CCS business is mainly oriented in defence, aeronautic domain and protection of critical infrastructures. CCS is working as a service provider (security audits and SOC operator), a system integrator, and a product/software editor.

In SENTINEL, CCS lead WP4 which targets the implementation of the SENTINEL services and specifically the delivery of advanced cyberrange simulations and training for SMEs/MEs. CCS takes part in relevant integration and demonstration activities within the project, as well as in dissemination, exploitation and ecosystem building activities.

Our Genomics decision-support solutions, carefully developed and clinically evaluated over several years in hundreds of patient cases, presently include:
- EMA-Exome Management Application, our tested bioinformatics platform-pipeline coupled to expert manual curation, for the prioritisation, evaluation and reporting of actionable genomic variants,
- NGS-PanelBuilder, a user-friendly tool for building phenotype-driven and/or disease-driven multi-gene NGS panels.
As genome or exome sequencing of an individual typically generates thousands of gene variants relative to the human reference sequence, identifying the variant(s) of potential causative effect, i.e., clinically significant variant(s) directly related to the patient’s phenotype, is a challenging and demanding task.

In SENTINEL, CG is one of the three pilot enablers and coordinates the real-life experiment evaluations, namely the SENTINEL pilots (WP6). CG takes part from the very beginning of the project, setting the requirements of the SENTINEL solution and participates later on in relevant integration activities, and ultimately in the evaluation and impact analysis of the pilots outcomes.

The Centre for European Constitutional Law – Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation (CECL) is a renowned European research institute. It is a non-profit organisation founded by the late Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Dimitris Th. Tsatsos in 1995 (Official Journal 614/12.7.1995). The Centre aims to promote the development of democratic institutions and the welfare state; to deepen European integration; and to strengthen international cooperation under the principle of respect to the cultural identity of each state. The specific objectives of the Centre are to undertake theoretical and applied research in the fields of Greek and European law and public policies; to provide institutional know-how and capacity-building; and to promote public awareness on developments in the European area. To this date, the Centre has undertaken research, consulting and institution-building projects in more than 20 countries worldwide and maintains an active network of collaborating institutions and highly qualified experts.

CECL leads the project’s Ethical & Data privacy Advisory Committee (EDAC), dealing with all rising ethical issues throughout the project. CELC is involved analysing and interpreting the policy recommendations deployed by the SENTINEL recommendation engine in order to draft tailor-made optimization policies, tools and procedures. CECL also participates in the SENTINEL experimentation protocol alignment and pilots’ setup making sure that the design phase is in accordance with ethical guidelines set from an early phase in the project, as well as the evaluation and impact analysis of the SENTINEL pilots. Finally, CECL contributes through its networking and liaisons with policy makers towards promoting the project’s results.
FOCAL POINT (FP) was founded in 2012 in Belgium providing comprehensive solutions mainly on Cyber Security issues related to Cyber Incident Response. With a head office in Belgium and satellite offices in Denmark and UAE, FOCAL POINT is a specialist cybersecurity services organisation offering consulting, managed services, security assessments & training. FOCAL POINT is focused on improving its client’s ability to manage the cyber threat landscape and achieving their business objectives. FP’s main focused area is the Cyber Defence Exercises (CDX) in order to enhance the cybersecurity expertise of the Incident Response Teams and introduce them into the latest techniques, tactics and procedures. Lately, FP has been advanced in Block chain Technology both for App. Development and for Block chain App Security assessment perspectives.
FOCAL POINT is focused on Oil & Gas Companies cyber issues, Banks, National CSIRTs and Maritime Security, providing basic and advanced training to the Incident Response Teams via unique live, real time, high level, sophisticated cyber attacks via a customer designed Cyber Defence Exercise.
